Brief Biographical Sketch:

I am in my fifth and final year of graduate school in the Scripps Isotope Geochemistry Laboratory, UCSD.

I study extraterrestrial materials like meteorites and lunar rocks to understand how planets are formed. My work starts with breaking up a meteorite and grinding it in a mortar and pestle. I then use acids to break down the rock. After a lot of preparation, they are ready for analysis in a mass spectrometer.

The measurements I make are important for understanding planetary evolution, especially how the core, mantle and crust separate from each other.

I am really excited about my research and look forward to expanding my work and becoming involved in large-scale Solar System modeling after I graduate.
