UCSD Splash 2019

Update (Feb 21): Splash 2019 teacher registration is now open!

What is Splash?

Splash is an event held by UCSD students that brings local high schoolers (grades 9-12) to the UC San Diego campus for a day full of learning and engagement.

Our core belief is that students should enjoy learning about topics they are most passionate and interested about. We allow students to choose from a variety of classes created by our own teachers who are current UCSD undergraduate and graduate students. Our volunteers are still deciding what to teach this year; for now check out previous catalogs in the sidebar on the left.

We facilitate this passion for learning by allowing our teachers to create their own classes. The teachers are allowed to pick their own topic and create their own curriculum. As a result, the classes are filled with information the teachers are most passionate about and what students may find most interesting. Past classes included Neuroscience, Martial Arts, and even Interstellar War!

When: Saturday April 20th, 2019

The entire program will run from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. (Check-in starts at 8:00 am.)

Where: UCSD Medical Education and Telemedicine Building (MET)

Price: The entire program will cost $20, which also includes a t-shirt* and lunch. There is financial aid available for eligible students.

Teachers (UCSD students, faculty, and invited guests): Teacher registration is now open!

Students: Registration will start in mid-March. For now, check out a previous class catalog or our FAQ.

Parents: To create an atmosphere of independent learning, we ask all parents to not shadow their child throughout the event. Here are some adventures you can explore while your child is at Splash.

*Since we have to order shirts well in advance, we can only guarantee shirts to those who completed registration (including payment or financial aid form) by Wednesday, April 3.
